연쇄적 숙어 암기법 –4(all at once->at once->at one’s wit’s end)

 

1. all at once(=all of a sudden): 갑자기

예문: All at once, the lights went out in the house(갑자기 집 안의 불이 꺼졌다.) 같은 뜻의 단어: Suddenly, Abruptly, Unexpectedly, Out of the blue, Without warning

 

2. at once: 곧, 즉시에(immediately, right now)

When the fire alarm rang, everyone evacuated the building at once.( 화재 경보가 울리자마자 모두 건물을 대피했다.)

3. at one’s wit’s end(be at a loss, be perplexed, be puzzled, be bewildered, be embarrassed): 당하하다. 어찌할 바를 모르다.): 당황하다. 어찌할 바 를 모르다.

After trying everything to fix the broken computer, he was at his wit's end(고장난 컴퓨터를 고치려고 모든 방법을 시도한 끝에, 그는 어찌할 바를 모르는 상태에 이르렀다)
